Color Terms

Before we can plunge into color harmonies and different types of color schemes, we have to define a few important terms: hue, saturation, value and tint (read the slide above). These color terms are important when it comes to "tweaking" a color palette to get just the right effect. You might find that some software programs refer to them using slightly different words, (for example saturation is occasionally called "intensity"), but their effect on colors the same.
