Module Overview
This module will introduce you to the world of OER and consider the equity implications of high-cost textbooks for our students. We will also cover copyright, fair use, public domain, and Creative Commons.
We will have an optional kick-off meeting for our course Friday, March 11, 12:00-1:00
The kickoff meeting will be recorded and made available. Please review the material in this module prior to our kickoff.
Learning Objectives
Upon completing this module, you will be able to:
- Define OER and ZTC.
- Reflect on the impact of high cost textbooks on our students.
- Articulate the difference between copyright, fair use, public domain, and open materials.
- Properly identify the creative commons (CC) license on a resource and describe how this resource can and cannot be used.
Assignments
We will have two assignments this week, both due by Sunday 3/13 at 11:59pm.

- Meet-and-Greet Discussion - initial posts and replies to at least one colleague
