Course Syllabus
OER@DVC
This professional development course supports participants in the OER@DVC grant; a 2021-2022 program for DVC faculty interested in exploring, using, and creating Open Educational Resources (OER) and converting courses to Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC).
Topics of our course include anti-racism, open licensing, finding and using existing OER, creating and adapting resources, and universal design for learning. By the end of our course you will have created at ZTC Action Plan to convert your course from traditional textbooks to ZTC.

Grading and Completion
Each unit of the course consists of one or more assessments, which include:
- Self-check quizzes which can be taken as many times as necessary to earn a perfect score.
- Discussion prompts in which grantees are asked to respond and reply to at least one colleague.
- A mid-course reflection.
- An action plan for ZTC course conversion.
All assignments will be graded on completion, and finishing each element with a fully formed ZTC action plan will result in completing the course. Upon completion, we will provide information on how to receive the first portion of your grant stipend.
