This module was designed to assist you in knowing how to review and update your programs on a regular basis to ensure legal compliance when initiating or making material changes to how you pay employees.
In this module we started by looking at compensation is a broad term that includes all the extrinsic and intrinsic rewards an employee receives as a result of employment.
We also looked at compensation administration programs are designed to provide competitive, equitable, and legally compliant pay to all employees, through the use of salary structures and formal policies and procedures.
Many laws that impact compensation administration are constantly changing and we touched on a few that are current to the employment world today.

In the next few modules, we will look at specific employee classifications such as independent contractors and employees with different wage & hour exemptions as we move toward learning how there are many ways to view and pay employees.
