Purpose: This discussion addresses these module goals:
- Explain the purpose of management
- Evaluate effective team leadership
- Differentiate between a leader and a manager
This week's chapter discusses the functions of management and characteristics of good managers. Think about a great leader you know. It can be a former boss, teacher, relative, friend, anyone. What characteristics do they have that make them a good leader? What good characteristics do they have that is also mentioned in the textbook?
How do you plan to develop your own leadership abilities in your career? What do you think are the most important skills a good leader should have?
