Climate Action Night Google Poster First Draft

Your group  will be assigned either

• • a piece of legislation that is currently working its way through the California state senate or assembly.
  • local city, county campaign for climate action locally.

  You will use this Google Slideshow Template Links to an external site. to create the material for your tri-fold poster.  The will include

• • information on the bill
  • how it will impact climate change
  • what actions members of the public should take.

First Draft 

The first step in this process will be to create a rough draft of your Google Slides Presentation.  Here are the steps you should take

• Make a copy of theMaster Google Slide Template- Links to an external site.
• Move that copy into your own Google Drive
• Rename it with the name of your Bill in the title 
• Read through the specific instructions that are in the first 7 slides
• You will find information regarding your assignment in the documents2025 CAN group assignments  Links to an external site.    and in the folder   Fact sheet for bills Links to an external site.
• With your group members, begin to fill in the Google Slides Template with the information from the CAN Bills Support Links.
• Follow the instructions in the Google Slide Template for researching your bill using California newspapers and websites. 
• Use that to help fill in the Slide Show
• This will be your rough draft 
• You will need to make an appointment with your instructor and mentor in which all of your group members attend. 

Timeline

Before March 28th  Meet with group and mentor to go over your assigned bill/ topic and divide up the slides among presentation group.  

By April 7th: Each group member finishes assigned slides so mentor can look over and give edits

By April 14th:  Final draft of slides completed by students

 By April 19th: Meet with group and mentor to practice presentation and assemble board
