This week's textbook reading discusses businesses under capitalist, socialist, communist, and mixed economic systems.
China is seen as the primary example of a successful Communist economic system. China is now the other world power other than the United States.
Find a current business article (no more than 1 year old) about China and how it's economy affects the United States and write your opinion on how your life will or won't be affected by China in the future. Some questions to consider are: How important will it be for your kids to speak Chinese? Will the U.S. be seeing more and more Chinese tourists? Is the China economy a bubble?
Purpose: This discussion addresses these module goals:
- Differentiate between planned and free market economic systesm
- Explain China's rise as an economic power and its effect upon the U.S.
