Summary - Types of Employees

Recap

In this module, we learned about worker classifications intended to clarify the company’s sets or workers so that employees understand their employment status and eligibility for benefits and pay.  We also touched on how an employer may engage and pay an independent contractor where an employee may do the same or similar work and that there are important legal differences between the two. There are also distinctions between exempt and non-exempt employees.
