Description:

The attached videos will provide an explanation of the different types and employees found in organizations.  The videos also highlight the differences between independent contractors v. employees and the characteristics of exempt and non-exempt employees.

Purpose:

From the lecture video, you will learn basic concepts that will help you to better classify workers as part of the process of assigning appropriate compensation and benefits. 

The two remaining videos offer more in-depth learning on the subjects of Independent Contractor regulations and Exmpy v Non-Exempt employees.

What to gain:

As you listen to the presentation it may be helpful to stop, pause and take notes on how some of what you hear may impact your own employment experience, or as an HR professional, how viewing Employees & Independent Contractors/Exempt & Non-Exempt employees impacts how you hire, pay, treat and retain employees at companies where you work, or may work in the future.
