Recommendations on how to study for Test 1 and to use this Practice Test effectively:
- Complete all of your Chapter 1, 2, and 3 MyLab Statistics homework and classwork assignments.
- Get as close to 100% on those assignments as you can!
- Next, review and study your Chapter 1, 2, and 3 class notes, class work, quizzes, and MyLab Statistics homework.
- Don't wait for the last minute - start studying at least a week before the test and study at least half an hour each day.
- While studying, create or update the three 3" x 5" cards of notes you plan to use on Test 1.
- Once you feel ready, schedule 1-2 hours in a quiet place to take this Practice Test. Pretend it is test day.
- Do the Practice Test using only the resources you will have on Test 1: your calculator and three 3" x 5" cards of notes (one for each chapter)
- Once you are finished, compare your answers/solutions with mine: Solutions to Practice Test 1
- If you got a question wrong, make a note of it!
- Study the solution and correct it.
- Ask me or a tutor for help if you don't understand what you did wrong.
- Add supporting notes to your 3" x 5" cards so you can get similar questions correct on the actual test.
- Keep your work and turn it in the day of the test - your Practice Test is worth points toward your Math 215 grade.
Please keep in mind that I write a new test each semester, so this Practice Test will not be an exact match to this semester's test. I am providing this Practice Test to you so you can get a general feel for the format, question types, length, and level of difficulty that you can expect to see on Test 1 this semester.
This Practice Test is due the day of Test 1 and counts toward your Math 215 grade.
