Part 7 - Poster Presentation
The last part of your Math 15/215 Project is a Poster Presentation summarizing the highlights of your project.
You may present your poster on either of the following dates:
- At the Petaluma Student Research Conference on Thursday, December 5, from 3 - 5 p.m. in the Student Success Center.
- On the day/time reserved for our Math 215 Final Exam: Thursday, December 19, from 1 - 3:45 p.m. in our usual classroom.
The poster presentation is worth 20 points. In addition to counting toward your Math 15 grade, it also counts as your Math 215 Final Exam, which is worth 15% of your overall Math 215 grade. It will be graded on the following basis:
- (4 point) Title/Main Idea of your project clearly indicated and your poster is colorful and visually appealing.
- (6 points) Including at least four graphs. Graphs must be clearly labeled. These can be graphs created in Part 3 or 4 of the project or new graphs that you create based on your discoveries in Parts 4, 5, and 6 of the project.
- (2 points) Including information/interesting conclusions from Part 4, such as the Range Rule of Thumb, Box plot, or both!
- (2 points) Including information/interesting conclusions from Part 5, such as your Confidence Interval and conclusion, Hypothesis Test and conclusion, or both!
- (2 points) Including information/interesting conclusions from Part 6, such as your Hypothesis Test and conclusion, Scatterplot, or both!
- (4 points) Answering questions about your project, such as:
- Why did you choose this project? Why does your topic interest you?
- What was the most interesting thing you learned while working on this project?
- Did your data reveal anything surprising?
