3. Answer the following questions, each answer needs to be about a paragraph long:

1. 1. What military advantages explain the ability of the nomadic Mongols to defeat the large armies of established states?

   2. How did the Mongol conquests increase regional exchange of goods, ideas, organisms, etc. Who gained the most from this exchange and who lost the most?

   3. How did the Mongols claim the legitimacy to rule China? Why were they unable to conquer Japan?

Students will critical thinking questions relating to the history of Eurasia during the era of the Mongol Empire
