Microscope II: Nature Journaling

Today in lab you learned how to use the compound microscope, used it to examine a water sample and looked at your compost under the dissecting microscope.

Metadata: in this case it will be

• • • where, when and how the sample was collected
    • The type of microscope.
    • The amount of TOTAL magnification.
    • A scale drawing to show the actual size of the specimen you are drawing 

 Mixture of Words, Images and Numbers

• • • use these to describe what  you see ( I notice)
    • pose questions ( I wonder)
    • and make connections ( it reminds me of)

    • This should focus on the experience of using the two different types of microscopes: dissecting and compound.
