Purpose
Discussion topics each week will vary and offer you the chance to introduce yourself, get to know your group, and share your opinions and experiences.
You can submit your discussion posts in one of three formats, unless otherwise instructed: video, audio, or written. You can record your post previously and upload here. There is a three to five minute limit on Discussion submissions if you submit recordings; you will need to use your time efficiently and include detailed information.
Written responses should be at least 5 paragraphs and use correct spelling and grammar.
You will not be able to see the responses of your classmates until you have submitted your post. Once you have submitted, read and respond to at least two peer posts. Part of your score requires you to respond to at least two peer posts.
You can use the Studio app to upload or record on your devices. There is now an icon on the left navigation bar.
Week 6 Discussion Topics
You've been nominated to be FCC Commissioner. Present two goals you will have as a Commissioner for the next two year term. Recent topics include antitrust, AI, resurrecting the Fairness Doctrine, regulating Social Media, broadband coverage and speed, and Digital Divide but you may include any regulation under the auspices of the FCC. Make sure to research your topics and offer facts to support your stances.
Finally, what are three takeaways from this semester? For instance, how has your increased knowledge of media, the corporations and business practices, advertising and PR procedures, news gathering and presentation, social media uses and misuses, etc. affected your relationship with media? If you want additional ideas, check your Journal.
That's it! Any last words?
