2. Number your answers so I can give you proper credit. This is a writing assignment worth 6 points.
3. Answer the following questions, each answer needs to be about a paragraph long:

1. Summarize Justinian’s reforms to the tax and law codes. What do you consider the most important and longest-lasting effects on the Western world?

2. What appeared in the Byzantine Empire in 541 and was more devastating to the Byzantine Empire than the various wars? Describe how this event destabilized the Byzantine Empire?

3. According to tradition how did the Russians decide to convert to Christianity? Which three religions were considered and why was Christianity ultimately selected?

Students will critically analyze issues relating to the major events in Byzantine and Russian History.
