Due June 30 at 11:59 pm. Read chapter 4 in your textbook, the document on The Mandate of Heaven, review your notes and watch all the videos to complete this assignment.

1. Follow the homework guidelines and example found in the Useful Information Module and write well-developed paragraphs. Your total assignment should be between 300-600 words.
2. Number your answers so I can give you proper credit. This is a writing assignment worth 6 points.
3. Answer the following questions, each answer needs to be about a paragraph long:

1. According to this document, what crimes has Di Xin, King of Shang, committed against the people of China? How has Di Xin offended Heaven?

2. Why is it clear to the King of Zhou that the King of Shang has lost the Mandate of Heaven?

3. What effect do you think the speech had on the soldiers and officers of the Zhou army?

Students will analyze a primary document about The Mandate of Heaven and answer critical thinking questions relating to the political philosophy of Ancient China.
