We will be using Adobe CC in this course, and details will be provided about how to purchase this using your student Bears account.

About this Course

Adobe Illustrator 1 introduces you to design tools in the industry-standard software available via Adobe CC, we will also be taking a look at resources, artists and designers to assist us in better understanding the contemporary needs of digital media.

Throughout your projects and exercises, you will explore graphics industry practices and standards, including the use of digital technology!

This course will encourage students to develop their conceptual skills through themed projects. Each student will be able to choose their own theme (with instructor approval) and will submit theme-based designs throughout the term.

  • You will need regular access to the internet to remain engaged in the course throughout the term. Remember that our library and campus offers quiet spaces, wi-fi and technology to assist you in completing your studies.

  • You will also need Adobe Cloud access. You can get a great discount for Adobe CC Links to an external site. (link is for Adobe CC, which includes all design suite software, but you could elect to only purchase Illustrator outside of this link on Collegebuys.com Links to an external site.)

  • You'll also need a computer at your disposal. The SRJC library offers Laptop/Computers  for student use.
