5 Second Rule Write Up

In this assignment, you are going to write up your 5 Seconds Experiment that we did in lab.  There are 2 parts to this assignment

1. Analyze our data: This short video walks you through what you need to do in order to analyze the data we collected. 
   • You will make a copy of  our
     • Monday Lab Google Sheet Links to an external site.
     • Wednesday lab Google Sheet(click here to get the copy). Links to an external site.
   • Calculate the average for each treatment. (shown in the video)
   • Create a graph showing your data analysis (shown in the video)

2. Submit the answers to these questions:

• • What was our hypothesis ( 1 sentence) 
  • What were our predictions ( 1 sentence) 
  • What was our experimental variable (hint: What is the difference between the control and experimental treatment? That should be the variable that we are experimenting with) since we were testing the impact of the amount of time --- that is the experimental variable
  • What was our control treatment (hint: this is the ''unaltered'' condition) - this is the treatment where we didn't change anything - in our case zero seconds on the ground 
  • What were our experimental treatments (hint: we had more than one) 
  • What were the results of our experiment ( this is where you would insert your graph)
  • Was our hypothesis supported or not? 
  • Using your data from the graph, explain what you think was happening regarding contamination in general 
  • Are there any new questions or ideas that you would like to test based on this information?
