Introduction: Geographic Concepts
This Unit is the longest Unit of the Semester. We will be introducing the field of Geography and looking at how Regional Geography fits into the subject. In order to be able to learn about the Regions of the World, we need some basics. This Unit will provide an introduction to that material.

- The Geographic Grid
- Overview of Physical Geography
- World population statistics and terminology
- About major trends affecting the globe: Urbanization and Migration
- Culture: Religion and Language
- Economic and Human Development
What you will be doing
- You will read the Canvas content provided and Chapters 1 and 2 in your textbook
- You will watch Instructor videos and other provided videos
- You will complete the Latitude and Longitude Assignment using your Atlas
- You will participate in the Globalization Discussion Activity
- You will complete the Population Assignment.
- You will participate in the Population Discussion Activity
- You will take three quizzes
- You will take the Unit Exam
