Selecting Legible Fonts

Look at the fonts in the slide image above. Try to put them in order of legibility based on the criteria from the slide on the previous page.

Obviously, some of them have very distorted letters. So when might you use a font with such distorted letterforms? Sometimes, mood or impact is more important than ease of identifying individual letterforms. As a designer, it's up to you to decide when.

  1. Do you think they are legible choices?
  2. Does the legibility of the typeface the site uses have an impact on how easily viewers can interact with this site? Can you read the headings and the text?
