Tip #2: Stay on Schedule!
Set a Regular Schedule for "Class" + Additional Study/Homework Time
Very Important! Don't wait till the last day of the class week to view lectures and attempt to complete assignments. This does not allow time for adequate learning or allow for problems with technology. Respect yourself and your goals. Remember that you have paid money for this class, so get what you need out of it. Waiting until the last day to cram everything in also does not allow time for any possible technical difficulties (Internet connection drops, assignment questions, Canvas problems, etc.).
Keep in mind that an online class usually requires MORE time and effort than the equivalent face-to-face class. When you take an online course, you need to be self motivated and disciplined in order to study the material, learn the concepts, practice the skills, and complete the homework.
For a full-semester 17-week course, you should allow three hours a week for "class" time (lecture). Use this time to read/watch lectures, complete interactive lessons, and practice skills. Allow an additional six hours a week to complete your homework. This includes assignments, discussion activities and quizzes.
