Assignment Instructions

Research is an important step in the design process! For this assignment, you will do some preliminary research for Project 2 (the restaurant site home page design for mobile and laptop screen sizes). This research will include: locating restaurant site examples, deciding on your restaurant type, finding a suitable Wix template, and creating a moodboard to brainstorm your design.

• Preliminary Internet Research:  Do some general research on the Internet to look at different restaurant types. Use this activity to get inspiration for the type of restaurant you want to use for your design and possible names (links are provided at the bottom of the Project 2 information page: Research Inspiration)
  
  
• Design research using Wix Templates: Pick a Wix template from the selections provided on the following page. Make sure it is a scrolling page. View the demo site. Look at both the desktop and the mobile version (icons at top left). Save the template thumbnail to your computer and insert into your research document. Describe what appeals to you about the design.

• Use the Internet to select 2 well-designed restaurant sites of the type you plan to design: Copy the URLs to input later in your research document and answer the questions about the sites you have chosen.
