Brainstorming for Standing Rock Essay

POST: Respond to the prompt below by Wednesday, 8/2, by 11 pm.

PROMPT: Do some "soft" research, and brainstorm ideas for the Standing Rock Essay.  Use any method of brainstorming that you like: free-write, make an idea map, use the research process to brainstorm--whatever works for you.  

Then report back to us in your post on your ideas.  Based on this exploratory research and your interests, what do you think you'd like to research and write about for the essay?  Give use your general ideas.  Also, if you have any questions about the essay or its requirements, post them here.  Write around 200 words, minimum.

RESPOND: Comment 2 other posts by Thursday, 8/3, by 11 pm.  Make suggestions, congratulate good ideas, answer questions if you can.  Also, can CAN steal an idea.  If you like someone's idea, you can execute it, and you will write a completely different essay.  The purpose of the discussions is for you guys to share ideas, so don't feel like you're cheating if you build off of someone else's  idea.
