Class or Group Discussions are an important part of this class. Every week you will be presented with a topic and a question that you will answer using evidence from your readings, class discussion, posted materials, or approved internet sources.

Topic:

A summary of the main topic that will be discussed.

Directions:

1. You will create a post where you use critical thinking to answer a specific question or make an argument. You will then reply to one or more posts created by your classmates.

2. Your original post is based on your opinion--supported by critical thinking and analysis--and there is no right or wrong answer. Your points will be based on completion of the assignment (based on the rubric) and whether you use evidence from the readings, class discussion, or internet. The assignment is worth 5 points total, 3 for your initial post and 2 for replying to someone's post.

3. It is recommended that you complete your post two days before the final due date in order to allow other students to reply to your post.

For your Response to a classmate's post:

Read another student's post and respond to their statement. Follow the netiquette guidelines below and use evidence to support or disagree with the original post. This is not a place for insults or arguments so use proper language such as "Your ideas are interesting, but I agree/disagree because..."
