POST: 150-word minimum, due by Tuesday, 7/5, 10 pm.
PROMPT: Post your ideas about what community problem you are thinking of researching for the Community Problem. No need to respond to other people's ideas for this discussion, but feel free to steal an idea or related-topic from a classmate—I'm all about idea-sharing.
The key here is to identify a controversial issue (one that different people are making different arguments about). It is necessary to find a controversy first, because without that, there's no reason for you to make an argument. What is the problem? What are some different positions that people seem to be taking on this issue? At this point, of course, I don't expect you to understand the controversy in detail. However, I do want you to have a general sense of what the problem is and what arguments are being made.
It's fine if you post more than one idea and it's OK if your topic changes as we move forward.
