Bio

My name is Emily Peng. You could call me Peng Laoshi or Emily. I’ll be your instructor this semester. I’ve been teaching Chinese for over 25 years. I’ve always loved learning languages and sharing this passion of learning with people. I am passionate about teaching and have a great deal of experience teaching Mandarin Chinese in the US.

This is an online course, and we will be using Canvas as our learning management system. However, we will meet twice a week as listed on course descriptions. This course is an introduction to elementary traditional Mandarin Chinese grammar and development of all language skills such as speaking, listening, reading and writing. I provide a lot of materials on Canvas, and it will help you to get acquainted and succeed in this course. I look forward to seeing you in class.

• Feedback: I will be providing feedback on assignments and projects in the grade book. Also, I will be sending messages via the Canvas Inbox.
