Purpose:
The purpose of this is to help give you a better understanding of what it takes to maintain a medical record and give you an introduction to medical documentation by NDTR and RDNs.
What to gain:
- What are the common medical abbreviations?
- What is a diet manual, what does it consist of and where would it be found?
- What is a diet order? Who prescribes it and who has input?
- What is a Tray card, how is it used and maintained?
- What is the medical record and relevant rules/regulations on how it is maintained?
