A little about me...

Food and nutrition have played a central role in my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Napa so food culture was all around me. I was strongly influenced by my mother’s flair for international cooking, my collegiate tennis coach father, my talented older brother (now accomplished chef/tv host), and my grandmother who lived with diabetes. I saw how important food and nutrition were on many fronts, including but not limited to artistry and enjoyment, optimizing athletic performance, and managing chronic disease. Early on I had a love of science (nerd alert!) and a strong desire to help people. By the time I reached high school, I knew I wanted to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). So I set my sights on UC Davis, and then internship and I became an RDN in 2006.

My experience in this field includes extensive work working one-on-one with individuals across a range of ages, body types, backgrounds, and diagnoses. I have been practicing medical nutrition therapy in clinical settings for almost two decades with additional expertise in kidney disease nutrition, as well as maternal and early life nutrition. I have taught at SRJC since 2016.

When I am not counseling, teaching, or consulting, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and three children, going for a run, playing USTA tennis, and making/eating yummy food.
