Art 75 Outline

Advanced students who feel that they need to refine skills that are being taught in the beginning or intermediate sections may follow along with those projects, but will also be asked to do further research in the processes via books and magazines (and online resources) and then to present there findings in a 5-minute class presentation.

1. Find one's own subject matter to resolve particular problems and express various ideas in traditional and conceptual sculpture projects

2. Make a series of at least three works for portfolio

3. Design a site-specific or public sculpture

4. Examine books and magazines devoted to historical and contemporary sculpture

5. Create a final portfolio demonstrating the techniques learned during course

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES:

At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

1. Employ advanced technical skills and more refined aesthetics in visual analysis of figurative, non-figurative and mixed-media sculpture.

2. Use a variety of tools and materials to create large and complex structures.

3. Plan and create a site-specific public sculpture.
