In-The-Round View of Finished Piece 1

As the phrase, "in the round", implies, the Bust Project is sculpturally complete from all views. It is proportionally accurate in every direction in space, as opposed to relief sculpture, which can contain foreshortening, flattening  and forced perspective. The bust takes on its spatial volume as you view it from various angles.

The best way to work on a bust is actually on a turntable or lazy Susan. This allows easy rotation so it becomes easier to understand volumetric aspects of the work, such as cheekbones, eye sockets, hair, and the jaw and lips.

Although most busts are displayed in such a way that walking around the piece is difficult, the understanding and appreciation of the whole form comes about from its accurate execution.

From a documentation point of view, photographing the work from many views is a good idea. There are many good views of the bust on this page, and they are taken with a clean background and shadowing that gives its form depth and detail.
