Poster Presentation
The last part of your Math 15/215 Project is a Poster Presentation summarizing the highlights of your project.
-
Posters should be on trifold boards.
-
Student names should be clearly visible on the poster.
-
A title should be included.
You may present your poster on either of the following dates:
- At the Petaluma Student Research Conference on Thursday, May 8, from 3 - 5 p.m. in the Student Success Center.
- On the day/time reserved for our Math 215 Final Exam.
The poster presentation is worth 20 points. In addition to counting toward your Math 15 grade, it also counts as your Math 215 Final Exam. I will be looking for the following things on your poster:
- (3 points) The Title/Main Idea of your project clearly is indicated, your poster is colorful and visually appealing, and you have listed the names of all group members.
- (4 points) You include at least four graphs. Graphs must be clearly labeled. These can be graphs created in earlier parts of the project or new graphs that you create based on your discoveries in Parts 4, 5, and 6 of the project.
- (2 points) You include information or observations from Part 3, such as the Range Rule of Thumb, if your boxplot shows that you have outliers, etc.
- (2 points) You include your Confidence Interval and conclusion from Part 4.
- (2 points) You include your Hypothesis Test and conclusion from Part 5.
- (2 points) You include information/interesting conclusions from Part 6, such as your Hypothesis Test and conclusion.
- (5 points) You present a brief (1-2 minute) summary of your project, answering questions such as:
- Why did you choose this project? Why does your topic interest you?
- What did you learn while doing the project?
- What was the most interesting thing you discovered?
- Did your data reveal anything surprising?
