Goal: Promote Climate Action Night

Goal: Educate the public about California state legislation to fight climate change

Goal: Foster community and support amongst CAN students and alumni through Climate Action Night Instagram account: @climateactionnight   

Note: This is something that  needs to be done between April 1st and  April 24th. I've set the due date on April 2nd so it will show up on your assignments. 

Groups 

Create and post 3 times on your assigned Climate Action Night topic  (see “methods” below for how to do this)

  • These could be stories, reels or posts 

Starting March 31st until CAN (April 24th) 

Options:

    • Take and submit photos/short videos of group meeting and working on project- could be with or without your mentor 
    • Post about your assigned CAN topic- 
      • Could be a summary of, benefits of legislation
      • Could be link to media or other social media post about the legislation 
    • Post about the larger topic related to your legislation.  How it relates to climate change.
      • Ex: why affordable housing is a climate issue. 

Methods 

To fulfill your assignment, take screenshots of posts and submit them to your instructor.

You can use any of these methods for interacting

    • Post on your IG account with #climateactionnight
    • Post on your IG and make it a collab post  Links to an external site.
    • Email your post to the CAN Intern- contact information will be provided.  

Individuals who have Instagram Acct 

Once a week interact with the Climate Action Night Instagram Account. Links to an external site.

  • Starting March 31st until Climate Action Night (April 24th)
    • Options:
      • Follow the account
      • Comment on a post
      • Re-share a story
      • Add the CAN website link Links to an external site. to your bio 

Competition 

Prizes for the people who get the most engagement on their IG posts
