Today in lab you learned how to use the compound microscope, used it to examine a water sample and looked at your compost under the dissecting microscope.

 

Introduction to the Rotifera

Assignment: Will be written  in Nature Journal

You will use your nature journaling skills to create

In Lab: Nature Journal Water Sample

Metadata: in this case it will be

      • where, when and how the sample was collected
      • The type of microscope.
      • The amount of TOTAL magnification.
      • A scale drawing to show the actual size of the specimen you are drawing 

 Mixture of Words, Images and Numbers

      • use these to describe what  you see ( I notice)

      • and make connections ( it reminds me of) 

Reflection

      • Write a 250 word reflection 
      • This should focus on the experience of using the two different types of microscopes: dissecting and compound.
      • What  did you learn from using them? About microscopes, magnification, the water samples, yourself? What you would like to learn about any of the above?
      • Is there any other part of your life that you would like to explore using either the compound or dissecting scopes?
