Carbon and Water Cycle

  • Due Apr 16 by 11:59am
  • Points 10
  • Submitting an external tool
  • Available Jan 13 at 12am - Apr 20 at 11:59pm
This assignment was locked Apr 20 at 11:59pm.

Watch this video that explains how water and carbon move through ecosystems. Remember the information you learned in the beginning of the semester

Biomolecules and their subunits are  made mostly of carbon

  • carbohydrates- sugars
  • proteins- amino acids
  • lipids- fatty acids
  • nucleic acids - nucleotides

The equation for cell respiration

  • Glucose (C6H12O6) + O2 ---> CO2 + H2O + ATP
    • Glucose (C6H12O6) + O2 yields CO2 + H2O + ATP

and now to add to that photosynthesis

  • CO2 + H2O ---Light energy ---> Glucose (C6H12O6) + O2
    • CO2 + H2O ---Light energy yields Glucose (C6H12O6) + O2
