Scientific Claim Assessment: Finding a Claim

Assignment:

Submit 3 potential scientific claims. For each of them state

    • State the claim in 1 sentence:  it shouldn't be in the form of a question- but rather a statement
    • Ex:  " Chia Pets Cure Skin Rashes''. Rather than ''Do Chia Pets Help with Skin Conditions?" 
    • State where you found the claim- give the name of the source and how you found it.
    • Include a link to the source.

Use the Library Guide that was created for this project: it has links, suggestions, tools for making flyers,etc,

  • This is the leading Science organization in the United States and they have created a website with trending news releases. 

Newspapers: 

  • Search the the SRJC databases for News Sources : search for a particular topic (‘climate change’, ‘COVID’, extraterrestrials, etc) 
  • Go to a newspaper website and search either for their science section.
