5 Second Rule Write Up

In this assignment, you are going to write up your 5 Seconds Experiment that we did in lab. You will need to bring your assignment to class on Tuesday, September 5th  and then your final submission will be by midnight that night. 

1. Analyze our data: This short video walks you through what you need to do in order to analyze the data we collected. 
   • You will make a copy of  our Google Sheet Links to an external site.
   • Calculate the average for each treatment. (shown in the video)
   • Create a graph showing your data analysis (shown in the video)

2. Answer these questions 

• 1. What was our hypothesis ( 1 sentence) 
  2. What were our predictions ( 1 sentence) 
  3. What was our experimental variable (hint: this is what we were changing in order to test the impact )
  4. What was our control treatment (hint: this is the ''unaltered'' condition) 
  5. What were our experimental treatments (hint: we had more than one) 
  6. What were the results of our experiment ( this is where you would insert your graph)
  7. Do our results match our prediction ( yes or no )
  8. Was our hypothesis supported or not? 
  9. Using your data from the graph, explain what you think was happening regarding contamination in general 
  10. Was our data highly variable? What were potential confounding factors?
  11. Describe an experimental set up that would allow you to remove those confounding factors?
