Short Answer Question 1:
For this assignment, you will need to go to the grocery store and photograph the nutrition labels of four different foods- a protein rich food, a carbohydrate rich food, a lipid rich food and one that will contain some nucleic acids (DNA, RNA). You will then answer some questions about the food- that will require you to apply what you learned in class
Here are the criteria for each
A. A food that provides at least 18 grams of protein per serving. How many grams of amino acids would be in each serving?
B. A food that provides at least 16 grams of carbohydrates per serving. This will be divided up into fiber vs. sugars. Fiber is made of sugars, so why don't they list the fiber in the same category?
C. A food that provides at least 10 grams of lipids per serving and has some unsaturated fatty acids. Why do they list the different types of fatty acids?
D. A food that contains some DNA and/or RNA. (just photograph the food, not the label)
