Normally, this type of information would be assigned for you to do BEFORE you came to lecture. But since we covered this on the first day of class, and some of you won't have had a chance to do the assignment, I'm assigning it for AFTER the class in which we talked about this.


Living things are part of a hierarchy. We study biology and living organisms by considering their size, scale and organization of their component parts.  We will explore topics within all levels of the biological hierarchy this semester, from atoms up to ecosystems and the biosphere.
