Topic

This week we will learn about the 4 major minerals.  We will approach it like the vitamins.  What is the function of the mineral? What foods do we find it in? What happens if we have too much or too little of the minerals.

We will also discuss Hypertension or High Blood Pressure and what diet changes help this chronic disease.

Objectives:

  •  Describe the sources, intake recommended for well-being, including results of over and
      under consumption, for minerals
  • Relate the importance of good nutrition to quality of life and describe the long term damage
    to the body caused by poor nutrition including chronic diseases
