How to Submit a Google Doc to Canvas

Please use the following instructions for submitting all exercises and assignments

  1. Sign in to Google Drive
  2. Open a Google Doc
  3. Give it a title
    • FORMAT: (AssignmentName_LastFirst)
      • EX: APnumbers_LastNameFirstName
    • Go to CANVAS
    1. Open the assignment/exercise.
    2.  Copy any necessary items to the Google Doc

  1. Complete your assignment or exercise in the Google Doc

  2. Click SHARE on the top right
    1. Under GET LINK:
      1. Change to "ANYONE WITH THE LINK"
      2. Change to EDITOR
        1. NOTE: If these settings are different, then I won't be able to access or edit your work, which will result in a 0 on your assignment

  3. Click COPY LINK

  4. Go to CANVAS
    1. In the assignment, click SUBMIT ASSIGNMENT at the top right
    2. Choose the WEBSITE URL tab
      1. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT – DO NOT CHOOSE the google drive tab

  5. Copy the Google doc URL into the provided field under the WEBSITE URL tab

  6. Click SUBMIT ASSIGNMENT
