Turn in the answers to Questions 1-13 in the Interview Packet in this module:
What type of position do you see yourself applying for next? Keep this position in mind when answering the following questions. Obviously it most likely won't be your future career, but maybe an advancement in your current one?
Which position are you applying for?
1. Tell me about yourself (using the DEEP method from handout)
2. Why are you interested in this type of work?
3. Based on your previous experience, what special traits and skills do you bring that will benefit our company?
4. Is there anything about your work habits you would like to change?
5. We have many qualified candidates for the position. What do you think sets you apart from the rest?
6. How much do you expect to be paid? This question should be avoided if possible. Answer with, "Well, could you tell me how much you would pay a person to start with my qualifications?"(whatever their response just say "ok". The interview is not the time to negotiate)
7. Tell us about you work experience. Why have you left those jobs?
8. What are your strengths? (Keep them as specific to the job you are applying for as possible. List at least 3 and give examples).
What are your weaknesses? (Never volunteer anything truly negative and always try to spin this into a positive)
9. Why are you applying for this position? Give them examples about their specific company to show you've done your research.
10. What two or three accomplishments have given you the most satisfaction? Start with a previous job example if possible.
11. Situational Questions: The "What if" for example "What if you had to help an irate customer/client/patient. What would you do in that situation?"
12. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? (your answer should include working for this company or working your way up in this company)
13. Do you have any questions for us? You should always ask "Can you tell me what the next step in the process is?" or "When would I expect to hear about next steps?" This is also an opportunity to ask them if you are able to give them more information about you that you don't think you conveyed through their interview questions. For example, I'd like to give you more information on _______ if possible?
