OVERVIEW: WEEK OF AUGUST 19th
Topic
Welcome to the first week of class! You should navigate through your course shell here in Canvas and acquaint yourself with what is expected of you. After first having started at the home page, you should go directly to the syllabus.
This first week, you are responsible for thoroughly knowing what's in the syllabus because it specifically states how I run my class and what I expect from you.
As importantly, you need to navigate through the entire course here in Canvas and see where everything is located. Everything you need is in this course shell. In this course, ignorance is not bliss and therefore, no excuses will be considered for lack of doing your part.
Please don't forget to do this as soon as possible.
Once you've accomplished all the administrative tasks associated with this course, you should delve into the principles and fundamentals of economics, by reading and reviewing chapter one.
You'll be introduced to some very key terms and concepts such as scarcity, opportunity cost, trade-offs, choices, and possibly even your first economic model, the production possibilities frontier (PPF) or curve (PPC).
Be sure to use and review the additional tools that I have provided in each week's module, particularly the course videos. These will certainly supplement the materials that you are covering in the book.
Objectives
By the end of this week you will have...
