Introduction to Final Team Project

Shark Tank Team Project and Presentation

Total points possible: 190

Due Date: December 5th-7th

For this assignment you will be working with a team of other students to create a new product or service and create a business plan to bring that product or service to market. You will then be pitching your product/service and your plan to your instructor, who will be acting as a Shark Tank-style venture capitalist, and your class, who will be our live audience. You can be as creative or as silly as you like with your product or service, as long as you are able to create an effective pitch and a solid business plan. Your final project and presentation should include both a printed and bound business plan and an effective verbal presentation with visual aids. Every member of your team is expected to contribute, though not every member is expected to present. If one person is better at research than presentation, the team can agree to allow that person to do research rather than present. Your roles within the team are up to you and your team to decide. However, part of your grade WILL come from your team’s evaluation of your effectiveness as a team member, so please make sure to do your share. You are expected to work as a team to resolve any conflicts, though I will be available to mediate if necessary.

Your report and presentation should include the following:

  • The name of your product and service, as well as a description, and, if possible, visual aids to help sell it. These can be anything from design plans to illustrations to a model, whatever your like. Be creative.
  • An executive summary.
  • Your target market and an explanation as to why they are your target market. Don’t forget we exist in a global marketplace.
  • A funding request, broken down by category.
  • A first-year estimate of expenses broken down by category.
  • A SWOT analysis for your product/service within your market.
  • A brief marketing plan.
  • A Triple Bottom Line (TBL) analysis.
  • A summary and conclusion.
  • A works cited page
  • Any tables or addendums.
