Now that you have drafted a waistband for your Skirt with Pockets, you should cut and sew the pattern to practice the waistband and pocket construction and help you visualize everything we have discussed in the demos.

My demo below will discuss the construction of the In-Set Pockets. For guidance on applying Patch Pockets or In-Seam Pockets I am including pages of REVIEW from FASH 70A.

Depending on the style of your skirt, and your own comfort level, you can determine what type of zipper you want to install in your skirt. You can choose centered, lapped, or invisible. The following pages contain REVIEW of zipper types and applications from FASH 70A. If you choose to use a lapped zipper, you should create the closure on the left side seam and pattern the waistband extension to lay underneath from back to front. Also you will want to increase the seam allowance to 3/4" for the area of the zipper.
