Feature 5: Multiple Clauses
Feature 5. If a sentence has multiple clauses with the same Subject, the Subject in the ensuing clauses is omitted. If two sentences have the same Subject, the Subject of the 2nd sentence is represented by a pronoun.
李友 在商店买衣服。她 买了一件衬衫,还买了一条裤子,花了六十块钱。
[李友 在商店買衣服。她 買了一件襯衫,還買了一條褲子,花了六十塊錢。]
Lǐ Yǒu zài shāngdiàn mǎi yīfú, tā mǎi le yí jiàn chènshān, hái mǎi le yì tiáo kùzi, huā le liùshí kuài qián.
Li You went shopping of clothes. She bought a shirt. (She bought) a pair of pants as well. She spent sixty dollars.
