Assignment 4 - Listening and Writing

Description

Listening to the recording of the basic radicals (textbook p.14-15) and the basic strokes (textbook p.17) to improve listening and reading skills. Then, try your best to practice writing Chinese characters.

1. Listening to the recording (textbook p.14-15, 17) first before you start your own recording.
2. Writing: complete the character workbook p.1-15.
3. Recording: demonstrate writing 10 characters from the radical list (textbook p. 14-15)

Purpose

For this assignment, it is important to learn the basic Chinese radicals and stroke orders to build a strong foundation for learning more new Chinese words.

Directions

1. Practice speaking several times until you are comfortable to record your voice for this assignment.
2. Review the basic stroke orders by applying them to your writing process. For instance, you will speak aloud of each stroke in numerical order for each Chinese character. (大: yī héng, èr piě, sān nà)
3. Scan the character workbook p. 1-15 using Adobe Scan App
4. Upload all scanned images and submit them to complete the assignment
5. Choose 10 radicals (from textbook p.14-15) and record your writing process
