Instructions
For this scenario activity, we will use the assault with a deadly weapon scenario you just completed in the last module. Prepare for this scenario by reviewing the police report and hate crimes check list you submitted. If you need to download them again, here are the links again.
Scenario: Within 3 hours of the reported assault in front of the Mosque on Magnolia St., the Chief's Office started receiving phone calls asking about what happened. The president of UC Midway called and demanded to know what the police department was doing about hate crimes. He told the Chief that the associated student body is currently organizing a demonstration to be held in front of the police department demanding that the two suspects not be released on bail. CNN also called and said they have crews enroute to Midway wanting to know about the Saudi Arabian students who were beaten after praying. Finally, the local leader of the American Jewish Committee called and demanded to know why nothing was being done to prevent Jews from being randomly attacked. The Chief is asking for how the department should respond.
