Try this practice lecture exam of a few questions to get used to taking lecture exams in our normal Room 657, with campus laptops, and to experience the several question types you will find in the real exam. This exam does not count for points but it will give you practice in setting up the laptop computer and taking the exam in Room 657.

When you arrive in our Lecture Room 657:

• Take ALTERNATE seats in lecture room, arrange your station for taking an exam. No books or notes on your desk, but scratch paper and limited food/drink are ok (but DON'T spill on laptop!!!). You may NOT access any other web page, site, google search, browser tabs, AI, summaries, etc. on the computer. No eTexts, slide files, no other resources than just your own brain.
  
• Come to the laptop cart and initial under the correct exam, by your name.
  
• Select any laptop (pick one that is plugged in!), and write its number by your name. Carefully unplug the charging cable from your chosen laptop in the cart, pull out the laptop, open it to be sure it's charged and will boot, then carry it back to your seat. You will not need to plug it in (Laptop does not have a mouse, only track pad; if you prefer a mouse, bring a USB mouse). If your laptop does NOT have power, leave it on top of cart and pick another. NOTE: IF we do not have enough laptops, I may authorize you to use your own, under strict rules of integrity.
• Turn the computer on and after it boots up, open the Chrome browser from the Windows desktop. From the drop-down Login tab at top, select the Canvas Login (or enter URL canvas.santarosa.edu)
  
• Go to canvas.santarosa.edu and log into Canvas. You must have your login credentials (user name, password)!!!
  
• Open our course, go to Modules/Lecture Exams:.../CURRENT Exam/ PRACTICE Lec Exam (FA25) (Mon, 22Sep25) and take the short practice exam.
• IF you are unable to view an image or video, let Dr. G know and he will project it on front screen. Using Chrome browser can reduce such problems.
  
• You will have about 10 min to complete the practice exam.
• When you are finished, submit your exam, exit canvas, turn off the computer (click lower left corner, click power icon, Shut down), close the laptop and return it to its correct slot in the cart (be sure that the charging ports face outward!). Plug in the charging cable -- give it an extra push to be sure it's fully plugged in.
• On real exam day (next Monday, 29Sep25), you will then be free to go. Today we will continue lecture.
