Instructions
This exam covers chapters 9, 13/14, 21/25/27, 28/29, including certain overlapping parts of lab.
IF YOU CANNOT SEE an Image or Video, call me over or come to front and I can project it. You must give me a few key words of the question (numbers are scrambled)
The first question will ask you to affirm, on your honor, that you are taking this exam on your own, receiving or giving no outside aid in the form of notes, books, or any form of communication with, or cooperation with, another person or any other outside support. You are to remain on the Canvas Quiz page throughout. You may not visit any other tabs, pages, browsers, googles, etc.
- You may have blank scratch paper for use during the exam.
- If you need to take a restroom break, please just leave, but keep it brief. Only one person out at a time!
- When you are finished with exam, please Shut Down Windows [lower left corner, power icon, 'Shut down'], close your laptop, take it to the CART, return it to the CORRECT SLOT with charging ports facing out on top, and plug the charging cable into the 2nd port, fully giving it that last push!). Then you are free to go.
The exam has a time limit of 90min, check your time with the timer at the right side of screen. Check that you have answered all required questions -- including any flagged questions -- before you submit. When you submit, your score will be out of 74 points, awaiting my manual grading of the SA and EC questions for final score.
NOTE: If the font size of answer choices is too small, try enlarging your browser page with "View/Zoom" or CTRL +
On the Short Answer 'essay' question, you do NOT need to repeat the question or use complete sentences, extra verbiage, or special formatting. DO list separate answer parts on a new line.
Your initial score will be out of 74pts (MC/MD/MA questions only). I must grade the remaining questions (26pts SA + 5pts EC) manually, after which your score will be complete, probably by Tuesday evening.
Question layout. There are 65 questions made up as follows:
or somewhat more detailed:

- A. Plant Tissues OR B. Classification, 6pts (if you answer both, i will grade only the first)
- #56: (Text Box) Explain an example (your choice of ONE from 2) of short-time scale evolution discussed in class, 6pts (PICK ONLY ONE! If you answer both, I will grade only the first)
- #57: (Text Box) Explain ONE example of homeostasis (your choice of ONE from A. blood glucose, B. body temperature, or C. blood calcium -- PICK ONLY ONE! If you answer more than one, I will grade only the first), 6pts

- There are numerous images on the exam. Please try to use Chrome for your browser during the exam, to maximize your chances of seeing the images. However, if you do NOT see any image, be sure to call or come up so i can project or show you the image. You must give me a few words of the question involved, as the question numbers are scrambled. You can also try the Edge browser.
- IMPORTANT: for short answer questions that have a CHOICE or Multiple parts, PLEASE be sure to list items (A, B, C or 1, 2, 3, etc.) on a NEW LINE (and NOT just merged into one long paragraph, which is VERY hard for me to grade). DO NOT answer more than the requested number of questions.
Do NOT take time to repeat the question or use complete sentences if they are not needed. Be concise! Budget your time. For #56-59, answered in text boxes, BE SURE TO INDICATE YOUR QUESTION CHOICES CLEARLY and BEGIN separate questions and parts or answers on A NEW LINE!! Do not answer more than the requested number of questions; if you do, I will grade only the first.
