They have a chart of listening definitions that span almost 100 years. How have the definitions of listening changed over time?

Defining Listening: A Historical, Theoretical and Pragmatic Assessment

"Listening is recognized as a multidimensional construct that consists of complex (a) affective processes, such as being motivated to attend to others; (b) behavioral processes, such as responding with verbal and nonverbal feedback; and (c) cognitive processes, such as attending to, understanding, receiving, and interpreting content and relational messages" (Halone, Cunconan, Coakley, & Wolvin, 1998). Read more about these 3 processes in the chapter.

- Read enough of the chapter to understand the 3 processes; Affective, Behavioral and Conginitive.
- Find a definition from the table that fits each of those processes.
- Choose the definition you like the best.
